Promotional film production.

Swan Wealth Management wanted a promotional film to reflect their key principles and ethics, as a trusted and responsible manager of wealth. This particular job necessitated more than just me as a cameraman and editor, and this is where adopting a collaborative approach works really well. Working with Molly Fry from Focus Pocus Films (Molly – director/producer, Me – Shoot and edit), we created this film which has been widely distributed by the client.

The film was shot over three days – one for the key interviews, one for the shots around their offices, and one for the sequences around Bristol. The pre-production work (production pack, fact-finding, narrative creation, scripting, arranging locations etc) was undertaken mainly by Molly, whilst I concentrated on the technical and creative aspects of the audio and video.

The film was shot using a C100mk II, and Davinci Resolve was used for the edit. I was impressed by the results we got using the Eyedirect teleprompter to capture the interviewees looking directly into the camera – a great tool for delivering a natural message straight to the audience, and one that I plan to use again for promotional film production.
